Rare Wonders of Nature: Fire Rainbows

Last few post i posted that you have to be at the sea at the right time and at the right place to witness the mass migrations of stingrays...here's a sight where you have to be at the right time and place to witness the Fire Rainbow!A circumhorizontal fire rainbow arc occurs at a rare confluence of right time and right place for the sun and certain clouds.

Crystal within the clouds refract light into the various visible waves of the spectrum but only if they are arrayed correctly relative to the ground below.

Due to the rarity with which all of these events happen in conjuction with one another, there are relatively few remarkable photo of this phenomena.

Stay tuned for more rare wonders of nature!

In order to be observed, the sun must be very high in the sky, and can only occur in the presence of cirrus clouds.

The phenomenon is only observable under a series of specific atmospheric conditions, and only in certain parts of the globe.
