High School Musical Summer Celebration

High School Musical fever is back when Disney turned the musical movies into a live musical with songs from the HSM movie franchise to Asia. I was planning to get my tickets from Rock Corner Gardens, but I entered the High School Musical Summer Celebration on the internet and won the contest! I didn't expect to win the contest knowing that winning a national contest open to everyone is hard...It all started when I was driving to college and was listening to Mix FM, and suddenly the DJ announced the cue to call to win the tickets, I tried to call but no luck, I was driving alone I didn't want to divide my concentration on the road...so after the 2 hour class I went home and looked for a date and ticket seats for the live musical at KLCC Convention Center Plenary Hall.

I picked my RM153 seat on Friday at 3pm matinee found a nice seat online, excluding other minor charges...and planned to get the tickets on Friday morning before the show...but I received a notice from GD EX saying that no one was home to collect a document for me, I was wondering what document that I got from a courier service because I did not shop for anything online...so I called and gave them a time to send the document to me again and I asked them who was the sender...and it was from Airtime Mix FM, at first I thought they sent me a survey form...after a while I realized I might have just won tickets to HSMSC...

I waited for GD EX to deliver the document anxiously waiting to see whether I really won the HSMSC tickets, I was right, I opened the envelope and the tickets was there...WOOHOO...I won the tickets to HSMSC!I went to KLCC early the same day I got the tickets in my East High "uniform", had a quick early dinner and went to the Plenary Hall with my brother...I'm surprised that there are many adults in the hall (without any children with them)...I was like WHOA...adults too? Before that I saw Joel Santiago and Brooke Gibson (Troy and Gabriella) was outside the Plenary Hall taking pictures with their fans...

Kelsi Nielsen (the composer of East High) and Taylor McKessie (Chad's gf) narrated the live musical...the musical started with What Time Is It? from HSM2...the live musical is full of dances and singing, light effects, it's so different watching it on stage live...the atmosphere is totally different...the songs are so loud, the spotlight shining at your face...The performers are really good that they can dance non-stop for 90 minutes, gotta give credit to that! They even invited a few on stage to dance and sing with them...really nice. The songs are so infectious that it made me tap my feet, clap along, and sing along to those songs that I've heard for 3 three years!

Although the performers are not the original cast, they still played the characters well, especially Ryan and Sharpay who was played by Kevin Kempscynski and Lindsey Medlen! And some of their costumes look exactly the same from the movie! I'm really glad that I went to the live musical, it was really awesome!Last night was also the premiere of High School Musical 3: Senior Year on Disney Channel and it was one heck of a High School Musical music party!

Fong Lye Restaurant

After doing some shopping at KLCC yesterday, and meeting few of the High School Musical Summer Celebration cast, I went to the Fong Lye Taiwanese restaurant in Jalan Imbi. It has been ages since I last went there with my family. The last time I went there was ages ago.
The restaurant started its business around 12-14 years ago...and my family was a regular customer, I still remember my parents bringing me there for lunch every weekend after buying me toys at Sungai Wang Mall...

I didn't visit the restaurant ever since it renovated, so yesterday when we went there for dinner, one of the employee (captain i guess) recognized us...and my mum recognized her too...my mum was shocked that she was still working at the restaurant, she said she worked there since 1990. And she said that I used to go to the restaurant when I was a little kid...she asked if I still remember her...I smiled back, of course I remembered!! My mum was impressed that she worked for the restaurant for so many years.

When they served us the appetizers/ tidbits, anchovies with tofu marinated in sweet sour sauce, the moment I took the first back, those nostalgic feeling came back to me, the food still taste the same, that plate of of appetizers is filled with nostalgic memories...

And we ordered the main dish that we used to order back then, "Three Cup Chicken" which is my favourite, pork served with fungus and ginger, four angle beans served with ginger and chili, mapo tofu, and a new dish cabbage baked with cheese...My favourite is the "Three Cup Chicken"

The "Three Cup Chicken" is served in a claypot with ginger and basil...When I took the first bite, I felt sooooo hyper...I missed the 3 Cup Chicken SO MUCH, it was so nice!!! The others tasted nice as well!!! I didn't bring my camera so there's no pictures...

After the dinner, we were served a shot of sour plum juice...it was really nice and refreshing compared to the thick apple tea I had in another Taiwan Restaurant...and a huge plate of fruits for desserts...When we're about to leave the restaurant, the "captain" purposely came to say goodbye when she taking someone else order...how sweet of her.

We passed by the Chef Rasa Sayang Restaurant when we're going to get our car and coincidentally the captain of the restaurant was standing outside of the restaurant, my mum chatted a while with her and asked why we didn't go to the restaurant for dinner...LOL, my mum suggested lobster when we go Chef Rasa Sayang for dinner next time...

The Fong Lye Restaurant at The Gardens shares the same name with the one in Jalan Imbi and Desa Sri Hartamas but the one at The Gardens serves "fast food" and its cheaper.

Another Spooky Story

When I went to Shabu One Steamboat Buffet last Friday, I found out (well not me)...it all started when......something happened...

My 9 nine year old cousin sister saw something...apparently she saw something that the human eyes are not supposed to see. She told her mum (my aunt) that she saw something at the restaurant, it was around 10pm when we had our dinner, we were sitting at the back of the restaurant because we were dining on two tables, so we were sitting at the quiet section where our back is facing the glass windows (facing the monorail station). My aunt didn't see anything and told my cousin that she probably saw someones shadow.

Incidents like these happened before, my aunt told my mum (during the dinner) one time when my aunt brought my cousin sister to the temple to pray, she said that my cousin face suddenly turned green, real green, the monk at the temple gave her an amulet to wear around her neck and her face turned pink again, the monk said that my cousin sister saw something that she was not supposed to see and my cousin was most probably frightened when she saw things that she's not supposed to see.

Another few more incidents like this happened to my cousin sister, at first my aunt didn't suspect anything and thought my cousin saw someones shadow, but I think my aunt started to feel weird when my cousin kept telling her she seeing things.

My cousin is just a kid and she doesn't know things like this, when I heard that she can see things I felt chills went up my spine...i don't feel like writing a more detailed post here...it freaks me out...

OK OK...one more...One of my mum colleague friend, one time they were having dinner at a mamak stall, suddenly one of the friend told the gang to leave and go somewhere else for dinner, this particular friend can also see things that he's not supposed to see...after they left, he said their food on their table is being eaten by something else...OK...this is freaking me out...

Beethoven Virus (2008) Korean Drama

It's another TV program that's related to music, I can't resist programs like this. It's like High School Musical all over again but Beethoven Virus is about classical music. Two musicians who retired from their musical careers for different reasons join together with a demanding conductor to form an orchestra against all odds.
Three people with different personalities (Kang "Ma-ae" Gung Woo, Du Ru Mi, and Kang Gung Woo) and different life experinces gather together under a common dream and they find love and the room to forgive each other as they eventually earn each other's respect.Du Ru Mi is a violist who was cheated by a conductor when she paid the Maestro to conduct for her orchestra, Du Ru Mi then invites Kang Gung Woo who is also known as the "Orchestra Killer" to conduct for her orchestra. Young Kang Gung Woo who shares the same name as the Maestro is a cop and also a trumpet player without formal music training. Young Kang harbours an exquisite musical talent under his strong character. The three musicians soon get tangled up in a love triangle.I came across this series when I was shopping for DVDs at Speedy Video store...after reading the synopsis at the store, i decided to buy the series, and i was not dissapointed. I really enjoy watching the series, some of the thing I watched in the series reminded me of the things I learned when I was studying my Music paper in college. The best part when you're watching the series on DVD is the quality of the sound, when the orchestra is playing in the show, you can hear everything clearly, every beat and tempo, the bass and everything...of course you need a cool surround system too..After watching the third episode, I noticed that there's some really good background orchestral tracks...I googled for the songs and found that there's a soundtrack for the series and saw that there's more than 20 tracks of orchestral background music from the series, all are original composed songs for the series. So i got the Special Edition Beethoven Special Soundtrack which consist of 3 music CDs.
The first CD has 23 tracks which also includes a bonus track titled "Can You Hear Me" performed by Jang Geun-Seok who plays the young Kang Gung Woo in the series...the 2nd and 3rd disc are all classical music performed and conducted by various orchestral groups.

Shabu One Steamboat Buffet - Lot 10

Last Friday I went to Shabu One with my cousins for dinner. I didn't know there was a steamboat buffet restaurant inside Lot 10. We went there around 9.30pm...I was starving and the shops inside the mall were already closing. There's many choices of soups for your steamboat (I think there's around 7 or 8), but we chose the normal herbal soup and Japanese anchovies soup, no one wanted the spicy soup...

There's many kind of dishes served at the restaurant, I don't find it interesting, the meatballs looks like those you can find at the supermarket (but I had to try some of them there's many variety of meatballs served), I only liked the variety of vegetables and noodles they offer for your steamboat.

There's also beef and poultry slices served at another section, I tried the beef but it was really really bad, but the Taiwanese beef slices was really good, the chicken slices was OK too...There's another section that's serve readily cooked food...I tried some of those and some of it was really bad...

My favourite part of the meal are the desserts...i love the frozen milk yogurt, the coconut pudding and the pumpkin pudding...i ate tons of them, and the Tiramisu too...i had 5 of those...and there's also the Japanese mochi...and there's many ice-cream flavours to choose from, I like the honeydew flavoured ice-cream...it's quite nice...We chatted for a while and left the restaurant around 12am...the restaurant closes at 0100...the mall was so quiet and empty...

Bosco Wong at Pavilion KL

I went to Pavilion KL today alone to shop for some clothes, and guess who i spotted?! Hong Kong actor Bosco Wong!!! It all started when I came out from Esprit. After browsing for some clothes in Esprit for a while, I went out of the shop and walk around and stood around that area for a while.

I was hunting for the next clothes store to go, until he appeared. I saw a man walking towards me, in a hat, covered his body with a huge scarf, a few of his entourage was walking around him (most of them was behind him), I was standing there alone, not many shoppers were around that area.

When he came closer towards me, I looked at him...and he looked at me...he was next to me, and we had direct eye contact...I FROZE! After a few seconds, my back was facing his back already, I was star struck without any "mental preparation"...I took out my mobile and called my friend Suat...she was working at LowYat that time, I told her I saw Bosco (she's a Bosco fan), I couldn't talk properly, I was so excited...Suat told me to go get an autograph and picture from him...I didn't bring my camera...my mobile camera is a lousy 2.0MP camera...my 12MP camera is at home!!!

So I switched into paparazzi mode and stalked Bosco for a while (since I don't know what shop I should go next) I was shocked when he went into Topman...(it's like a cheap store for a star to go in, I don't even buy the clothes there...so cheap and there's 50% going on)Bosco Wong and his entourage was browsing for some clothes in Topman...I noticed him walking around in the store...browsing the clothes over and over again...maybe he couldn't find something he like...I noticed him looking at some t-shirts that hanging on the wall...I noticed those tees are quite nice...I didn't know he bought any of it...after a while he was making a two thumbs up gesture at his entourage...maybe they saw something they liked and Bosco was giving them a two thumbs up...I was bored of stalking him...so I went back to my original mission...to shop for more clothes! And left Pavilion around 8pm...I wonder what is Bosco Wong doing in KL...a quiet holiday?
I told my mum about it and she said the same thing about Topman..."so cheap" "Why HK don't have Topman meh?"...LOL
