Xenri D'Garden Terrace & Xenri D'River View

Went to dinner with family at Xenri D'Garden Terrace at Menara Hup Seng, which is just two buildings away from my internship office at Jalan Sultan Ismail...it's a Japanese Fine Dining Restaurant serving authentic Japanese cuisine.
Even before we enter the restaurant, we were greeted by the beautiful view of the garden outside the restaurant. The environment was quiet, peaceful and serene as well, and you won't believe that all these peaceful environment is in the heart of the busy, noisy streets of Kuala Lumpur.
The restaurant has a nice interior design and theme, dim and soft lighting, a modern meets traditional contemporary table setting.
Okie, what we ordered, fyi, I'm the kind of guy that will only order the "safe" food that I'm familiar with, which means whenever I go, I'll order the same thing over and over again. I leave the adventurous part to my brother...and I try a bite or two from their dish.

Let's start with drinks, I ordered Apple Juice...LOL...safe rite? And it's green!!! My brother ordered a Mint Mojito, it's cooling...really cooling...it's bubbly with a dash of mint leaves in the drink.

The appetizers - tempura tofu, soft shell crab maki, and avocado prawn maki, we didn't order any sashimi or those muggle sushi that, coz we can get that at Shangri-La Hotel... The fried tofu and soft shell crab maki tasted good, both maki is cold on the outside and warm on the inside, with a dip of japanese horseradish, you get a rumble party in your mouth!

The avocado prawn maki, my mum wanted to try it because my cousin's hotel  Japanese restaurant serve this dish also, she wants to compare which is better, and of course, the family one tasted better...well I'm not a big fan of prawns so I won't judge...but if you want me to choose of course I'll choose the family one...
Main course - safe dish again, my usual Beef teppanyaki, OMG, I've been to tons of Japanese Restaurants, and they serve the best beef in town, it's not even Kobe or Wagyu beef and it's already so good, the best non  Kobe/ Wagyu beef I've ever tasted, it's soft, tender, and the texture of the meat is so smooth...the dish is served with garlic rice, and the usual teppanyaki set.
It's not the best garlic rice I've ever tasted, the Japanese restaurant in Hock Choon taste so much better, since kindergarten, I still think the Japanese restaurant in Hock Choon serve the best garlic rice! My brother ordered a beef set as well, but served in a hot pot with soup, raw egg and a side dish of tempuras.
And the dish that everyone shared on the table was the salmon head hot pot (sorry I don't forgot those fancy Japanese dish name)...it tasted weird, maybe I don't really like the taste of the fish...we struggled to finish that dish...as usual...with all the appetizers and main course...
And finally, for desert, the captain recommended us Mango Parfait, so we took that, me and brother shared, and considering how stuffed we are already...we managed to finished it...LOL

Our second visit was to Xenri D'River View which is somewhere in Old Klang Road for dinner again, I guess we went on a wrong day, because it was raining heavily that day and there was no river view for us. As usual, fine dining service from the waiters, we were seated in a more private part of the restaurant this time , it looks like a room but it doesn't feel like one, and we can't see the main hall as there are doors...ok...I think it's a room...but I hate the room...there's mosquito's in the room!!! HAHAHA

I didn't bring my camera this time, thinking that I would order the same thing again, and yes, I did, salmon head hot pot as well, my brother tried something else...I think he ordered two kinds of fish unagi and shishamo...As it was raining outside, I ordered HOT green tea and no dessert this time as it was freezing cold outside...And the menu for Xenri Garden & River is different, there's some similar dish, but not all is the same...I prefer D'Garden's menu...it's safer...
