A Cut Above Charity Pre-Event

Hi hi, it's been a while since I last updated about the event. It's finally here, A Cut Above Charity is just less than a week away. And today we started our pre-event at TAR College Canteen 2 foyer. Let's just say everyone was busy with their own department's work and ambassadors arrangement.

I left for college a little earlier today because the product sponsor that I was in charged of delivered the products to the canteen 2 today. I arranged them to arrive at 10am, so I had to be a little earlier than them, but disaster struck when the traffic was so bad at MRR2, I didn't expect the jam to start at Sri Petaling...I was not worried because I was still early, it was only 8.50am and I still have more than an hour to reach college, but around 9.30am, while I'm still stuck at the turtle bottle neck near Pandan Jaya, the delivery man called me and told me they are already at the college...

I was like OMG!!! So after that stretch of turtle bottle neck the road was smooth again, and I reached college before 10am!!! LOL, but they were already there, so I felt a little bad, and the product I am referring to is the Cremo Ice Creams!!!
You can only get them when you buy the hair cut tickets at only RM10 during our pre-event at TAR College Canteen 2 foyer booth!!! *while stocks last* With the RM10 ticket, you will be getting a haircut from A Cut Above Academy trainees with quality assured checked by the ACA Academy educators, so don't worry, you won't look ugly. All funds collected will be channeled to a beneficiary home!
So hurry, get your haircut tickets ASAP to get a free Cremo Ice Cream!!! What else do you want? You get a nice haircut, one Cremo ice-cream, and you get to do charity also!!! And here's a peek at the Cremo Ice Cream freezer...waiting for you!!!
Comes in many flavour - Vanilla, Pineapple, Strawberry, Chocolate, Coffee, Lime, and etc...hurry while stocks last!

Carlson Calls

OMG, last Friday I got a call from my ex-colleague Casey from Carlson Marketing, the company that I went for intern during the beginning of the year.

She told me that there's a salary cheque that I didn't take when I left, so I was quite excited that they pretend nothing happened about the cheque, so Casey told me she will bank in the cheque for me asap. After that, she asked me whether I would be interested to return to Carlson for part time in December!

I couldn't be happier to say YES! I can't tell you how much I love to work at Carlson Marketing! But I can't, with all the hectic schedule in college, with event coming up in two weeks time, thesis final amendment, and writing assignments to submit, I don't think I can handle college and work stress at the same time, so I told Casey I would think about it, I had to ask for some advice. Another thing is that I won't be getting intern salary anymore, I'll be getting a part time salary...and the PT salary is really tempting!!!

I was also happy that they thought of hiring me again, I must have behaved really well during that 2 months...hehehe, so after getting some advice, I think I should not work at the moment, because the third week of December I won't be free, and my working hours should be very messy and it would affect on my job performance, I don't want to look as if I have no discipline during work as I have to travel from college to town during the peak hours...I prefer to work during the holidays when I could concentrate 100% on work and not about college stuff...

So maybe after my final exam, if they still need a part timer, I would surely say yes without a doubt! ;)

Another Disastrous Charity Event Post

Disastrous Event was deleted, so here's an update about the event. Everyone has to give RM50 to the event as we still couldn't find any sponsor. *clap*

Everyone was "summoned" to a meeting today organized by the event members and not the leaders, apparently some of us are not happy with the RM50 issue and also how the leaders are not communicating well with the members. I had no idea what the meeting was about, so I was one of the two AMS student that attended the meeting along with Priya.

So there were some complaints that everything was kept a secret from the members as we don't know what are the progress of the leaders or each department, so some of us are really frustrated about it, so everyone who went was trying to find solutions that can solve our current situation.

So now we're approaching Kidzcare again...after all the hurrah's we're going back to Kidzcare again, and we haven't approach A Cut Above, so, what happens if ACA doesn't want to come?
Sponsor, currently cash sponsor approached YTL's YES, if they're not sponsoring us they will target Tune Talk...haiz, I've lost my mood already, still don't have general proposal and head-letter, how can I send out letters to look for sponsor, and it's already end of week 9, week 13 is the event!!!

Things are so messed up, I "donated" that RM50 + RM15 for printing fees (paid today week 9 last semester still need RM15??) + and another RM10 for transcript fees....= RM75, and I bought Elixir last week, and a new modem yesterday RM90!!!

And there's still so many things to buy: Glee: The Music, Volume 4, Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album, and Glee: The Music, The Rocky Horror Glee Show! OK, the CD's are not urgent so it can wait. And so many more stuff I don't even know what are those things, and I've been so stressed up that I forgot to bring my drinking bottle to college for to consecutive times! Grrrr......this event thing is really driving me crazy

And there's another meeting tomorrow for product sponsor...I'm getting Crazy!!!!

Year Two Final Semester

Time flies...I can't believe week 4 for this semester ended just like that. This is the final semester for my Advanced Diploma in TARC...as usual, feels like I didn't learn anything yet this semester...LOL.

Yesterday, LJMU came to the college to "sell" the University...I'm quite disappointed with the presentation as they told us the same thing as the previous year. And the slides are the same! Unbelievable...they told us what to expect for our studies during the program and stuff...and also fees! haha

When they briefed us about our accommodation, my eyes started to fill with tears. I'm not sure what I heard the presenter said, the college hall sound system was terrible, I heard that they say students will have to share a toilet, we will have our own bathroom - to bath. Then I don't what happened, I think they said there's no toilet bowl in our own toilet in the room...I was like: "Do I have to go out of my room everytime I need to pee or poo?" And share it with other people?!

I almost cried in the college hall when I thought I have to share toilet-bowls with the other students! I don't want to go out of the room to pee or poo everytime...those toilet will definitely smell bad or be really dirty!!! But according to my memory, (LOL) the pictures I saw from my senior Facebook, the toilet has a basin, shower, and a toilet-bowl....so who on earth heard the wrong stuff and gave me a big fright!!!

After all the hoo-hah talk from the university, everything finally started to sink in, they told us we just need to bring 3 sets of clothes there as the summer sales there is crazy and everything is really cheap! I was like, if everyone goes to the summer sale and buy the same clothes together then won't everyone be wearing the same thing? =.=" but it sounds really tempting, seniors said the luxury we could only afford is either Starbucks or sandwiches...harh...I was like, that's so sad...I'm gonna lose weight if Sandwich is the "luxury" students only can get...so what's the non-luxurious stuff? And I'm not a Starbucks or coffee addict so I can live without it!

Then another problem: choose your housemates, each house will have 5-6 people, so I guess I don't have many choice here...to choose the housemates. And apparently they hinted me I'll be cooking for everyone...I don't think I will have the mental strength and energy to cook a nice meal for myself when I'm so far away from home...which really scares me when I think about it...the lucky thing is that no one smokes maybe except for one of the guys...the senior, I don't really know him and we're not sure whether is he planning to go or not...

Family is planning to buy an apartment in UK, but no decision has been made where to buy yet...first choice is in London and I think the second choice will be in Bath...to buy an apartment in UK is really a big investment...because it's in  pounds...and a two room apartment cost around 185-300K in London!!! Convert it to RM it will cost $$$...of course you need time to think carefully whether is it worth buying...too bad the University is in Liverpool and the apartment is either in London or Bath...so no point dreaming of not staying in the hostel...haih...

I think I better stop worrying about all this Degree program thingy...I have yet to complete my thesis and whole Advanced Diploma course yet...and it's only week 5 next week...9 more weeks to go...ugh...another thing, everyone is planning to apply for the Kojadi loan...should I apply too? for emergency use in UK or whatever reason...but the interest rate is quite high...argh...pass everything in college first and worry about all this later...

Xenri D'Garden Terrace & Xenri D'River View

Went to dinner with family at Xenri D'Garden Terrace at Menara Hup Seng, which is just two buildings away from my internship office at Jalan Sultan Ismail...it's a Japanese Fine Dining Restaurant serving authentic Japanese cuisine.
Even before we enter the restaurant, we were greeted by the beautiful view of the garden outside the restaurant. The environment was quiet, peaceful and serene as well, and you won't believe that all these peaceful environment is in the heart of the busy, noisy streets of Kuala Lumpur.
The restaurant has a nice interior design and theme, dim and soft lighting, a modern meets traditional contemporary table setting.
Okie, what we ordered, fyi, I'm the kind of guy that will only order the "safe" food that I'm familiar with, which means whenever I go, I'll order the same thing over and over again. I leave the adventurous part to my brother...and I try a bite or two from their dish.

Let's start with drinks, I ordered Apple Juice...LOL...safe rite? And it's green!!! My brother ordered a Mint Mojito, it's cooling...really cooling...it's bubbly with a dash of mint leaves in the drink.

The appetizers - tempura tofu, soft shell crab maki, and avocado prawn maki, we didn't order any sashimi or those muggle sushi that, coz we can get that at Shangri-La Hotel... The fried tofu and soft shell crab maki tasted good, both maki is cold on the outside and warm on the inside, with a dip of japanese horseradish, you get a rumble party in your mouth!

The avocado prawn maki, my mum wanted to try it because my cousin's hotel  Japanese restaurant serve this dish also, she wants to compare which is better, and of course, the family one tasted better...well I'm not a big fan of prawns so I won't judge...but if you want me to choose of course I'll choose the family one...
Main course - safe dish again, my usual Beef teppanyaki, OMG, I've been to tons of Japanese Restaurants, and they serve the best beef in town, it's not even Kobe or Wagyu beef and it's already so good, the best non  Kobe/ Wagyu beef I've ever tasted, it's soft, tender, and the texture of the meat is so smooth...the dish is served with garlic rice, and the usual teppanyaki set.
It's not the best garlic rice I've ever tasted, the Japanese restaurant in Hock Choon taste so much better, since kindergarten, I still think the Japanese restaurant in Hock Choon serve the best garlic rice! My brother ordered a beef set as well, but served in a hot pot with soup, raw egg and a side dish of tempuras.
And the dish that everyone shared on the table was the salmon head hot pot (sorry I don't forgot those fancy Japanese dish name)...it tasted weird, maybe I don't really like the taste of the fish...we struggled to finish that dish...as usual...with all the appetizers and main course...
And finally, for desert, the captain recommended us Mango Parfait, so we took that, me and brother shared, and considering how stuffed we are already...we managed to finished it...LOL

Our second visit was to Xenri D'River View which is somewhere in Old Klang Road for dinner again, I guess we went on a wrong day, because it was raining heavily that day and there was no river view for us. As usual, fine dining service from the waiters, we were seated in a more private part of the restaurant this time , it looks like a room but it doesn't feel like one, and we can't see the main hall as there are doors...ok...I think it's a room...but I hate the room...there's mosquito's in the room!!! HAHAHA

I didn't bring my camera this time, thinking that I would order the same thing again, and yes, I did, salmon head hot pot as well, my brother tried something else...I think he ordered two kinds of fish unagi and shishamo...As it was raining outside, I ordered HOT green tea and no dessert this time as it was freezing cold outside...And the menu for Xenri Garden & River is different, there's some similar dish, but not all is the same...I prefer D'Garden's menu...it's safer...

Vanessa Moves to Wisteria Lane

Desperate Housewives season 7 started last week, I can't believe it's been seven years, time really flies...I didn't read any spoilers for season 7 with all the Glee mania going on!

I think Desperate Housewives had some boring moments in the past season, but with a new lady in town, things are looking a little exciting. I didn't know this at all, but when I saw Vanessa Williams aka Renee Perry stepped out of her limo on Wisteria Lane...my jaw dropped...LOL, she was fun to watch on Ugly Betty, and now she's the new vixen in town...it's gonna be an interesting season!
And a few cast from previous season are back, Paul Young, Mary Alice's creepy husband is out of jail, and renting Susan's house...and Felicia Tilman (I hate her) who is plotting something against Paul - again...
