Today, Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting came to my college to give a speech on "Students and Politics", so after our class ended at 2pm, we went to block V for our next class, Ms. Kik came in and told us she had to cancel the class because it seems the VIP will be arriving at 3pm and we have to be in the college hall at 2.30pm...So after we took our attendance in the class, we went to the college hall reluctantly, and the staff started to take our attendance by scanning our ID cards...and we were given a book before we enter the hall...It was already half occupied so we sat in the middle of the hall...after waiting for a while, the MC announced the arrival of Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting, i was surprised that the VIP was quite early, so after the principal gave his welcome speech...and launching the event, Dato' Ong KT started to gave his speech...
At first he talked about his past...histories...how he got into the political world, at first is sounded boring, but when he continued on i was drawn into the speech...it's was an interesting story about his life...and i was curious to know more so i listened more and more...and others in the hall started to act "wildly"He also talked about why MCA or BN lost during the 308 election, how he decided to give up on his ministership in the cabinet, how he struggled without his ministership in MCA for 7 months...
After that was Q&A questions, students was given the chance to ask Dato' Ong questions...and since it's a closed door event...students asked really really controversial questions...eg the recent policy of changing maths and science syllabus to BM language, why government controls the media, what will MCA do if BN and PAS combine, how to encourage new generation to participate in political events...
There were more controvesial questions, i don't think i will post it here, and those students are some really angry people...when they mentioned the word "politician", it has some sinister tone in it...even the VIP noticed it...it's so obvious that the students are unhappy with certain things, and their faces says it all...even the girls...her body language was so "angry"...everyone "cheered" when students asked those controversial question...it was really entertaining
Due to the time constraint, the event had to end at 5pm and students was not allowed to asked more questions...
